World's foremost fit expert to tackle fashion fit in emerging markets

Apparel fit expert Alvanon is delighted to announce that Ed Gribbin, president of Alvanon Inc, has been invited by the American Apparel & Footwear Association, AAFA, to speak at its forthcoming conference ‘Retail hotspots: Developing a strategy to globalize’. The conference is being held at the New York conference facility of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, PwC, at 300 Madison Avenue, 10017 on Tuesday 31 January 2012 from 9.00am to 4.30pm. In his presentation entitled: ‘Demographic data mining’, Ed Gribbin, who is widely regarded as the global fashion industry’s leading authority on apparel sizing and fit, will reveal how retailers and brands can use demographic data to successfully identify, target and expand into emerging overseas clothing markets. He will define the key contexts to consider for data collection, analysis and utilization and explain how this critical consumer data can inform and drive market expansion strategies. He will conclude by advising companies on how to reconcile demographic data differences while maintaining brand identity. Alvanon is also a sponsor of the conference along with PwC, Bureau Veritas and the US Department of Commerce.

Alvanon & MODINT tackle fit and sizing at joint seminar

Netherland’s leading fashion trade association MODINT is to hold its annual sizing and fit seminar in collaboration with the world’s foremost apparel fit expert, Alvanon. The seminar will be held in the MODINT conference room, Utrechtseweg 95, Postbus 428 in Zeist, Netherlands on Thursday 8th December 2011, 10.00am to 3.45pm. Highlights of the seminar will include a masterclass on effective global sizing strategies from Ed Gribbin, president of Alvanon Inc, the world’s most respected authority on sizing and fit and a case study presentation from Monique Broeke, senior fit engineer with NIKE who will explain how it has used the latest 3D body shape data and fit tools to implement a successful fit standard across its active lifestyle ranges. There will also be specialist presentations on design development and the use of fit forms and blocks; the application of modern grading theories; and advice on how to reduce product lifecycle times and costs in the production process. The seminar will conclude with a panel discussion during which sizing and fit experts from MODINT, NIKE and Alvanon will identify the biggest fit related problems facing the fashion industry and explore solutions.

Alvanon expands into Japan with new partnership Signs exclusive distribution deal with Japan’s leading ‘fit form’ supplier

The world’s foremost apparel fit expert, Alvanon, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Kiiya, Japan’s leading fit form supplier, to distribute Alvanon’s patented soft memory foam AlvaForm technical mannequins to Japanese fashion brands and retailers. Under the terms of the partnership agreement Kiiya will also have access to Alvanon’s global 3D human shape database, the largest in the world, enabling it to supply geographically targeted morphological data to Japanese apparel companies wanting to export into the US, Europe and China. Kiiya is working with Alvanon to develop a soft form version of Kiiya’s popular Japanese bodies. This will allow Japanese fashion companies to use a soft skin-like product while they design and fit for a Japanese consumer. The fit forms will be duel branded ‘Kiiya by Alvanon’.
