AAFA – Executive Summit 2012

Each year, top industry executives gather at the AAFA Annual Executive Summit to gain key insights about the opportunities ahead.

When we get dressed each day, we wear more than just clothes and shoes. We wear intellectual property, innovation, jobs, and our economy. Each year, U.S. consumers spend more than $340 billion on clothes and shoes at retail, supporting more than four million U.S. jobs. With the United States only accounting for one-quarter of the global apparel and footwear retail market, global growth is our industry's top priority.

Alvanon is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the AAFA Executive Summit this year!

AAFA – Retail Hotspots: Developing a Strategy to Globalize

Retail access in the global marketplace is exploding giving U.S. brands the opportunity to scale new heights with an eager and ready to buy consumer base. Success, however, is not a one size fits all proposition and the risks are as plentiful as the opportunities. Focusing on market entry, operation models, consumer demographics and more in the BRIC nations, AAFA announces its new workshop on emerging retail markets, Retail Hotspots: Developing a Strategy to Globalize.

Ed Gribbin, President of Alvanon Inc. will be presenting from 1:45 – 2:00 PM: " Demographic Data Mining”

His presentation will reveal how retailers and brands can use demographic data to successfully identify, target and expand into emerging overseas clothing markets. He will define the key contexts to consider for data collection, analysis and utilization and explain how this critical consumer data can inform and drive market expansion strategies. He will conclude by advising companies on how to reconcile demographic data differences while maintaining brand identity.

27th IAF Convention – “Transformation of Fashion Business”

Join Ed Gribbin, President of Alvanon Inc., on Saturday 10/15 as he discusses a business strategy for the topic of: “Creativity & Innovation”.

The world has dramatically changed over the last 3 years. Economical, financial and political developments have also influenced our fashion business worldwide. What was for sure for a long time is not necessarily the case for the near future. In some parts of the world the economy is booming whereas in other regions economic growth is slow with consumers hesitating to buy our products. Production prices in some sourcing areas are going up, shortage of raw materials is another issue causing pressure on profits. Global responsibility can no longer be denied in a globalized fashion world.

What are the effects of all this on our business strategies? During the 27th IAF World Apparel Convention in combination with the 35th CANAIVE Congress high ranking speakers from all over the world will touch upon actual and future developments in sourcing strategies and retail concepts. They will answer questions how creativity and innovation can shape a positive business environment for the fashion supply chain.
